Who is your special Love?
HWR and I got married on February 13th, 2008, one year to the day after our first date, and 3.5 years after knowing each other and working together. Yes, he was my IT guy first and we have a beautiful story of how a work relationship turned into love - but that is a story for another day.
My point is, every year as our wedding anniversary day starts to get closer and closer, and I start thinking about what to do and what to gift Mike, I also think about the years before I had an HWR, and how I celebrated Valentine's Day.
Yes, I love being married to my husband.
And I also enjoyed being single before him (alone, not lonely, alone).
In the studio this week, as I am photographing clients for my Valentine's Day special, ensuring these clients will have their portraits ready for Valentine's day so they could gift it to a loved ones or themselves (there is still time and I still have 2 sessions open, call for more info), I am thinking that I wish gifted myself a portrait session when I was single.
What a great gift a portrait session is! The past few years, I love getting my portraits done, and go once a year to my favorite photographer for my portrait. The album from my most recent portrait sessions is a Valentine's Day gift for my mom (shhh, don't tell her, it's a surprise ).
HWR's screen saver on his phone is one of my portraits
And this year I am getting a wall art of one of my portraits to hang in the studio - can't wait!
Because portraits are empowering, and fill hearts with joy.
Have I mentioned I love my job?
Anyway, just wanted to share some pre-Valentine's Day thoughts and gratefulness for the gift of portraits
