Hyphen Beauty + Massage School Launches New Nail Program in Winter Park

Hyphen Beauty + Massage School has announced the launch of a new nail technology program, offering both professional training for future nail technicians and affordable services for local residents.
 
The program is led by Orlando resident Lissette Morales, who has been part of the city’s beauty community since 1994. Morales, a licensed cosmetologist, chose to specialize in nail design because of the creativity and confidence it brings to clients.
 
“I love when a client sees their finished design and can’t stop smiling,” said Morales. “Nails are more than polish. They’re an expression of personality and style.”
 
The addition of the nail program means Winter Park residents can enjoy high-quality services in the school’s student salon at about 50 percent less than standard market rates. Services include manicures, pedicures, acrylics, gels, and custom nail art.  The work is performed by students under the supervision of licensed instructors.
 
“Our students gain valuable hands-on experience, and the community benefits from affordable self-care options,” said a Hyphen spokesperson. “It’s a win-win for the residents of Winter Park and Orlando.”
 
Morales also uses the classroom to debunk common nail care myths. One misconception she hears often is that nails “need to breathe.” Morales explains that nails are made of keratin and receive nutrients from the nail bed, not the air. She also shares practical tips for healthier nails, including moisturizing hands, using cuticle oil, and keeping nails neatly trimmed.
