SUMMARY:RCF's 2nd Annual Summer Institute OG Training
DESCRIPTION:Registration is open for our Classroom Educator Summer Institute the week of June 3rd-7th\, 2024 in Orlando\, FL and spots are filling up quickly! A huge thank you to The First Hope of The First Academy for generously donating their space for this training! This is an in-person only training. The cost is $350 and includes lunch each day\, class materials for the training\, support meetings with RCF's OG Implementation Team after training\, and so much more!\n\n(If your school is planning to pay for your spot with a PO\, or you are a school waiting to register a group of teachers\, please e-mail Karin Tanner at karin@reedcharitablefoundation.org).\n\n\n\nThe Orton-Gillingham Classroom Educator (30 hour) class focuses on the principles and fundamentals of the Orton-Gillingham Approach. This class will provide an introductory understanding of dyslexia\, characteristics of the dyslexic learner\, specific procedures for teaching these students primarily in reading and spelling\, and the foundation for class or small group assessment and lesson planning. Specific areas covered will include phonemic awareness\, phonograms\, syllable types\, syllable division\, short vowel rules\, spelling choices\, and basic prefixes and suffixes\, as well as suffix rules.\n\n\n\n**There is a homework component to the course which will result in an additional 10 hours of PD for the reading requirement.**
