Long before he came into this role\, he started out as a Winter Park graduate   Go Wildcats!  Jim is an Air Force veteran.  His military career had him stationed in England and New England.  After leaving military life he went on to have many successful professional experiences that included non-profit\, academia & city government financial management and several entrepreneurial endeavors. All that led up to his relocation back to Winter Park in 2012 and to his current role as CEO and Owner of Lane Technology Solutions.\n\n\n\nJim has been an advisor for the Orange Technical College Winter Park Campus' Tech Studies Department since 2013.  In 2020\, Jim was recognized as both CEO of the Year and a Veteran of Influence by the Orlando Business Journal. He was honored to be asked to join the Orlando Business Journal Leadership Trust. Under Jim's management\, Lane Technology Solutions has become one of OBJ's top recognized IT companies in Central Florida\, voted Best IT company in the Winter Park Chamber's "Best of Winter Park" poll\, a Microsoft Gold Partner and Certified HIPAA Verified company. Not only is Jim a CMMC Registered Practitioner\, but Lane Technology Solutions is recognized as a CMMC Recognized Practitioner Organization. And for those of you who don't know what all that means\, it means that Jim has gone through extensive training to learn the federal government Department of Defense's new cybersecurity requirements so that he can help businesses navigate their way through the mandatory cybersecurity auditing process.\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n Kate Lane is COO of Lane Technology Solutions.  Kate hails from New England.  Her career path is as diverse as the staff at Lane Technology Solutions.  She has been a licensed insurance agent\, a licensed Realtor\, and she has earned many career designations in the field of residential property management.  She\, with Jim\, ran a 200-year-old\, nine-room bed-and-breakfast right before she brought Jim back home here\, to Winter Park. \n\n\n\nKate is a Leadership Winter Park Class XI graduate. She is on the Orange Technical College Winter Park Campus Student Advisory Committee\, the Chairperson of OTC's new Cyber Security Analyst Apprenticeship Program and founder and president of the Board of Directors of the Lane Technology Foundation - a non-profit scholarship program whose mission is to provide financial and foundational support for diverse individuals as they gain their educational training in pursuit of a sustainable career in technology.  Kate is one course away from obtaining her Non-Profit Management certificate from the Edyth Bush Institute.
